Local men urged to keep on top of cancer checks

Almost 4,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year in Ireland.

A local man has encouraged people to go and get checked after being diagnosed with prostate cancer.

P Burke is well known in Roscommon town as an auctioneer for almost 30 years and as a long-time Fianna Fáil activist.

Almost 4,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year in Ireland.

This means that 1 in 7 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime.

Speaking to Shannonside FM News, he had this advice for people:
