A Carrick-on-Shannon guidance counsellor is urging students not to carry out 'post-mortems' after their first exams. Almost 4,000 students from Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon started their state exams this morning.

They're sitting the junior cert, leaving cert or leaving cert applied - with all starting with English tests today. Sinead Duffy has this advice to students after their first exam:
