Local former minister says Ireland should boost trade links with Azerbaijan

Terry Leyden held the trade and marketing portfolio as a junior minister from 1989 to 1992.

A former Government Minister says Ireland should look to boost its trade links with Azerbaijan.
Terry Leyden held the trade and marketing portfolio as a junior minister from 1989 to 1992.

He's now the honorary consul for Azerbaijan in Ireland and recently visited the former Soviet Republic.
Mr Leyden says there are opportunities there for Irish companies:

Azerbaijan ranks 130th out of 182 countries when it comes to corruption, according to a Transparency International survey.
But the former Roscommon TD and Senator says Ireland should look towards Baku for fuel:
