A local Fianna Fáil councillor has defended the party's Presidential candidate Jim Gavin following a recent promotional video. Cllr John Keogh's comments come after the former Dublin manager laughed off criticism of the video which was shot on a farm. In it, Mr Gavin, who's originally from Clondalkin, is seen wearing white trousers while failing to properly secure a farm gate. The Presidential candidate, who now lives in Rathfarnham in south Dublin, says 'farming is in his DNA'. His father and mother both hailed from West Clare and he claims he spent his childhood summers on a farm.
