Peter Burke's appointment as a cabinet minister is being described as a major boost to the Shannonside region. He was confirmed as the new Enterprise Minister yesterday.
It now means the Shannonside region will be represented at cabinet for the first time since Roscommon Galway TD Denis Naughten was a Minister in 2018. Leitrim Fine Gael councillor Enda McGloin says it's very welcome:
