A Roscommon Councillor says funding for local arts festivals is a boost for the region. The Arts Council which is the national government agency for funding, developing and promoting the arts in Ireland, announced large scale funding for Irish Festivals this week.
Close to €100,000 was allocated to festivals in Roscommon, Leitrim and Longford following the announcement. Fianna Fáil Cllr Sean Moylan has welcomed the funding for local festivals across the region:
