Children can't walk to school in Tarmonbarry, Co Roscommon, because of safety concerns, according to a local councillor.
The Ballytoohey Road stretches from the national school in Whitehall to Tarmonbarry village.
Councillor Tom Crosby says several hundred people live on the road, which has four housing estates.
He says funding is badly needed to make the road safer:
