Longford County Council has been honoured at the Health and Safety Excellence Awards for 2023.
The local authority won in the public sector category with the award recognising best practice and innovation in health and safety.
Longford's win follows their Continuous High Achiever accolades at the All-Ireland Occupational Safety Awards.

Longford County Council was the only local authority in the country to be nominated, with the ceremony taking place last night at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dublin.
A council spokesperson today paid tribute to the members of the Health and Safety team along with all local authority employees.
