Older people living in Longford have received 'Storm Ready' packs to help keep them safe and connected during severe weather.
The packs include a solar-powered power bank, an energy-saving flask for storing hot water, and a hands-free LED torch.
The initiative was the brainchild of the Age Friendly Older Persons' Council in response to the impact of recent major storms.
It was launched recently by the Longford Age Friendly Programme and resulted in the delivery of 250 packs to vulnerable people across the county.
This was done in partnership with Longford County Council, Healthy Ireland and Community Safety Partnership.
