Communities across the Shannonside region are hoping for gold today at the annual Tidy Towns competition.
The event returns in person this year's following virtual proceedings in 2021 due to the pandemic with capacity limited to 75 percent pre-covid levels.
Minister Heather Humphries will present the awards at a special ceremony just before lunchtime in the RDS.

Last year, eight groups from across Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon received honours with a number of national awards and special accolades up for grabs today.
