26% of children locally missed the crucial 9-12-month Public Health Nurse check between 2020 and 2024.

Over 22,000 local children have missed vital development checks over the past five years. 26% of children locally missed the crucial 9-12-month Public Health Nurse check between 2020 and 2024. Typically, during the check, Public Health Nurses check a baby's physical, social and behavioural development.

Staff shortages and the impact of the pandemic are being blamed for the delays. Local Cllr Paul Ross says there is no excuse:
