A local Citizen's Information representative says a new registry will help cut down on scam texts. It comes as ComReg launched a new SMS reader ID Registry last week to identify texts from unregistered businesses. Messages from those businesses will now be labelled as 'Likely Scam'.
From October 3rd, messages from unregistered businesses will be blocked entirely. Sinead Conefrey from Citizens Information Leitrim says it's important to remain vigilant for scams:
