Enterprise Ireland backed companies in the Shannonside Region saw record levels of expansion in 2021.
While lockdowns and Covid uncertainty made last year a difficult one for many local businesses, many regional employers saw services grow through an increase in online services.
Businesses in and around Sligo and Leitrim recorded combined increase of 9 percent in job growth, with 6,797 people employed in E.I companies.

In the Midlands and Midwest, 2021 growth has scene a 4 and 5 percent increase in jobs resepectively, with a combined 27,000 jobs filled in Enterprise Ireland Businesses.
Chief executive Leo Clancy says it's fantastic to see the job creation spread across the country.
