The owner of two well-known hair salons in Longford and Carrick-On-Shannon is urging the public not to support black market hairdressing in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic.
Pauline Belton-Coady who runs Grafter's Hair Company in Longford Town and Carrick-On-Shannon, says people across the country are flouting health regulations by organising hair appointments behind closed doors.
In a statement yesterday, Tánaiste Leo Varadkar announced hairdressers, barbers and other personal services would not be reopening on the 5th of March as hoped by many in the industry.
Reacting to the statement, the Longford businesswoman says she's disappointed not to get back to work but understands the necessity of steps needed to fight the virus.
She's calling on customers nationwide to safeguard their families from the virus and wait for the safe re-opening of the industry:
