Leitrim farmers to benefit from 100 percent CAP convergence according to local MEP

Several EU countries have already introduced the measure.

Plans for a 100 per cent convergence of CAP payments will greatly benefit Leitrim farmers according to a local MEP.

Convergence is the process to flatten the value of CAP payment entitlements and redistribute allocations.

MEP for the Region Luke 'Ming' Flanagan says a 100 percent convergence would bring equality back to the farmers across Leitrim and Roscommon.

Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show today, MEP Flanagan says 17 out of 20 farmers in Leitrim would see their payments increase.
