A Leitrim councillor says three emergency mobile generators will not be enough in the case of a major storm. The county has been promised the generators as part of efforts to support residents during power outages. It comes after Leitrim was one of the worst-hit counties in the country during Storm Éowyn last January.
There was widespread damage and thousands were left without power for up to three weeks. Cllr Paddy O'Rourke says the county must be top of the list when it comes to storms support:
