Leitrim Councillor disagrees with NTA over 'success' of Rooskey Bridge pedestrian trial

The trial led to substantial complaints from the public, who claimed it significantly affected traffic.

A Leitrim Councillor has branded the trial of traffic lights on Rooskey Bridge last year as a disaster.

Cllr Sean McGowan was speaking after it was reported at yesterdays council meeting that the National Transport Authority were happy with the two week trial.

The trial last September consisted of testing out a one way system using traffic lights, with a metre and a half of the bridge given over to a pedestrian walkway.
