A Leitrim councillor has been appointed as the new chairman of the Northern and Western Regional Assembly.
Fine Gael's Enda McGloin formally took up the role yesterday.
The Assembly represents counties Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Leitrim, Sligo, Roscommon, Mayo and Galway.
It negotiates with stakeholders at EU, national, regional, and local level to accelerate regional development.
