There are plans in Co Leitrim for the public to get a handbook to help them deal with emergencies.
Fianna Fáil councillor Gary Prior called for the initiative at a Leitrim County Council meeting - and it was backed by his colleagues.
He says it should provide guidance for major emergencies, such as storms, flooding and power-cuts.

Leitrim council says it has applied for funding for emergency preparedness packs.
