A local Senator says a large bog fire is still burning in Drumlish this morning. Longford, Granard and Edgeworthstown Fire Service units are tackling the fire on Cloonaugh Bog close to the village.
High temperatures and low rainfall over the last week have dramatically increased the risk of wild fires, with local authority's warning the public to take care with cigarette butts or disposable BBQs. Local Senator Paraic Brady says the fire is still ongoing:
