Irish Rail apologises to Longford train users following disruption

While The 06:19 Longford to Pearse train was 38 minutes late. The 05:40 Sligo Connolly operated at a 60 minute delay.

Irish Rail is apologising to Longford train users following disruption this morning.

An on-track machine that was working on the line near Longford overnight, suffered a mechanical fault, and as a result blocked the line.

This resulted on the 05:38 service from Longford to Connolly starting from Enfield.

While The 06:19 Longford to Pearse train was 38 minutes late. The 05:40 Sligo Connolly operated at an hour delay.

It's understood efforts to source buses for customers between Longford and Enfield were not successful.

Iarnród Éireann apologises for the inconvenience that this disruption caused.
