Revenue officers have seized contraband worth over €99,000 in a series of operations, including the Midlands.
The enforcement actions resulted in significant drug, tobacco, alcohol, and counterfeit goods seizures.
The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence led operations, and included the following:
0.6kg of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of €11,800.
Various other illicit drugs, with an estimated value of over €10,800.
Over 113 litres of alcohol with an estimated value of over €1,360 representing a potential loss to the exchequer of almost €730, and 47 counterfeit items with an estimated value of €63,000.
The herbal cannabis and illicit drug seizures were made as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dog Ciara.
Investigations into all the seizures are ongoing.
