An investigation into an alleged assault in Kildare town is continuing.
A man in his 20s was attacked yesterday.
The man was found unresponsive on McGee Terrace in Kildare Town at around a 3.15 yesterday morning.
He was seriously injured in the alleged assault.
The man in his 20s has since been brought to Naas General Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition this morning.
The scene was sealed off last night for technical examination.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Any road users who were in the area between 2am and 4am yesterday and who may have video footage are asked to make it available to Gardaí.
