146 learner drivers in the Shannonside region got penalty points last year for not being accompanied by a qualified motorist.
It's an increase of 8 per cent from 2024, when 135 drivers were punished.
Last year 28 drivers in Leitrim got points for the offence, along with 60 in Longford and 58 in Roscommon.
