Roscommon County Council is raising concerns about the impact a big wind farm could have on a major heritage site - if it's gets planning permission.
The local authority says it can't endorse the wind energy development in north Roscommon.
This planned wind farm is called the Carrigeen Renewable Energy Development.
It would have 11 wind turbines, measuring 185 metres tall, mainly around the Frenchpark and Ballinagare areas.
Given the size of the project, An Coimisiun Pleanála will decide whether to give it planning permission.
But Roscommon County Council has been asked for their view on it.
In a report prepared by the council's chief executive, the local authority says the proposal can't be endorsed on the basis of the detail, analysis and justifications presented to date.
One of their concerns is the impact it could have on the Rathcroghan Archaeological Complex in Tulsk, in the context of landscape and visual impacts, and impacts on the cultural heritage and tourism value of the Rathcroghan complex.
Most significantly, the council is worried it could have had adverse impact on its bid to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
At Monday's council meeting, councillors will be asked to back the chief executive's report on the proposal.
If they do, it will be sent to An Coimisiún Pleanála, as representing their response.
