IDA Ireland have confirmed they have almost certainly secured a site in Longford for the provision of an Advanced Factory Building. The facility has long been called for by local representatives who believe the site could become home to a large scale employer in the county. Advanced Building Solutions are designed to attract multi nationals and other large manufacturers who require high quality facilities for producing their products or services.
At a meeting of Longford County Council this afternoon, IDA management confirmed that the site, which is near Longford Town and within the N4 bypass, in the final stages of being secured. IDA Ireland's Midlands Regional Manager Carol Greene says that once development begins on the facility, they will start seeking potential company's to fill it. Longford County Council acting Director of Service, Michael Nevin, says that the news is a further vote of confidence in County Longford:
