Iarnród Éireann is rejecting a request to provide extra trains between Longford and Sligo.
Roscommon councillors called for an extra morning and evening commuter train along the line, for those going to work, college or hospital appointments.
But Iarnrod Eireann says it doesn't have enough money or drivers for this.

Tulsk councillor Sean Moylan says he's very disappointed.
