Hundreds of people have welcomed European boxing champion Aoife O'Rourke to her hometown of Castlerea following her latest international success.
The 25-year-old was welcomed back to a large crowd at the Hub in the town last night after her victory in the final of the middleweight division on Saturday afternoon.
It's the second time the Roscommon woman has won a European title, following on from her initial success in Madrid in 2019 against the same opponent. The European championships were very successful for the Irish team- winning a total of seven medals.
