Additional supports are to be provided for Leaving cert students and parents by the HSE ahead of exam season.
East Galway councillor Dr Evelyn Parsons received widespread support for a motion at a recent meeting of the Regional Health forum to pilot a student specific mental and emotional health support for those sitting state exams.
She believes the Covid pandemic and the uncertainty over exams and how they will be assessed has caused enormous levels of stress and anxiety for thousands of teenagers and their families.
