A homeless Longford couple and their four-month-old baby were refused emergency accommodation this week. Sinn Fein's Sorca Clarke also told the Dail there are only 46 properties available to rent in Longford and Westmeath.
She says a very basic two-bedroom house is now well over €1,000 a month in the constituency. She says even a shed is €270 a week:
