An Post and members of the public across Roscommon Town are appealing for the return of a historic sign removed from the former post office in the town.
The old sign from the gate into the back of the now former post office in Roscommon was reported missing this week.
The sign has been in place for at least 70 years and is thought to have been removed and reattached from an older gate on its replacement in the 1970s.
The sign reads 'ná moilltear- NO PARKING' and was located on the gate at the rear of the historic building.
Roscommon Post Office closed the doors at their historic location after over 100 years and reopened in Fleming's SuperValu on Main Street a week later.
An Post have confirmed that they did not remove the sign and are aware of it's considerable vintage and of heritage value.
They've urged anyone who has any information on the sign to contact them or Roscommon County Council.
