High Court hears of money owed to event organisers

Confirmation of the winding up led to widespread shock and dismay from festival organisers.

Liquidators to the company which sold tickets to a popular county Leitrim music festival has said they are urgently investigating the legal status of €1 million in its account.

In early June, a statement was published on the tickets.ie website.

The statement said Oshi Software Limited, trading as Tickets.ie, ceased trading and the directors are taking steps to place the company into liquidation and appoint a liquidator over the company.

They said the winding up is being conducted in accordance with the Companies Act.

The company is owned by German entertainment fund DEAG.

Confirmation of the winding up led to widespread shock and dismay from festival organisers.

Among those is Cowboy's and Heroes, which takes place just outside of Ballinamore every year.

Organiser Simon Power told Shannonside FM, they're owed €135,000 by Tickets.ie and they'll try to recoup money owed to them.

The Irish Time is reporting that the High Court heard the company owes around €1.4 million to promoters who sold tickets through the platform.
