Great turnout across the region for Darkness into Light events

Thirteen Darkness into Light events took place in the Shannonside Northern Sound region this morning.
They were among dozens of events which took place across the country, while they also took place in fourteen other countries.
It is an annual fundraiser for the suicide charity Pieta House.

Last year the event raised over 4 million euro.
Melissa Doohan, the chairperson of the organising committee for the event in Boyle, Co Roscommon, spoke about her own personal experience of suicide.
