Government accused of being 'asleep at the wheel' over windfarm regulations

It comes as over 150 submissions were made against a planned development in Roscommon.

A local councillor says the Government is 'asleep at the wheel' when it comes to windfarm planning regulations. Cllr Tom Crosby was speaking as over 150 submissions were made against the planned development in Ballyfeeney. Ballyfeeney Green Energy Ltd have applied for permission to construct six turbines between Scramogue and Kilglass.

The Ballyfeeney Action Group says the company has not properly consulted with local residents. Cllr Crosby says the applicants are trying to fast track the application before new regulations are introduced:
