Gardaí have renewed an appeal for information regarding the extensive gorse fire which ignited in County Roscommon last Sunday.
Fire services from across Roscommon and Mayo have been battling a number of blazes in the Gorthaganny area this week.
Crews from Ballaghaderreen and Ballyhaunis were back at the scene at 5pm today.
It's the fifth day of fire-fighting efforts in west Roscommon.
The fire between Loughglynn and Gorthaganny was first reported at around 2pm last Sunday.
It quickly spread to nearby forestry plantations and threatened local homes with some residents forced to leave.
Gardaí have confirmed an ongoing investigation into all the circumstances surrounding the gorsefire at Cloonmaul in Roscommon.
Fire services from Elphin, Boyle, Carrick-on-Shannon, Ballaghaderreen and Ballyhaunis attended the scene as well as two helicopters carrying water from nearby lakes.
Despite their efforts, however, the fire continued to spread throughout the evening and a local road was closed for a time.
Gardai say there were no reports of any injuries or damage to houses.
A technical examination of the scene was carried out by Gardaí after the initial fire was extinguished.
They are now appealing to anyone who may have information or noticed anything suspicious in the Cloonmaul area on Sunday to come forward.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Castlerea Garda Station on 094-9621630, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
