Gardaí launch probe following discovery of weapons at local cemetery

Westmeath Gardaí have launched a probe following the discovery of weapons at a local cemetery.
A number of items were recovered from Athlone’s Coosan Cemetery during the course of the search on Friday evening.

These included machetes and sports equipment, which are believed to have been deliberately hidden in the cemetery.
Enquiries are ongoing.
