Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following an alleged assault which occurred in Athlone.
A woman aged in her 30s was hospitalised with serious injuries following the incident which occurred in the Connaught Gardens area last Friday morning shortly after 11am.
A man in his 60s was arrested at the scene.

He has since been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Anyone who was in the area of Connaught Garden, Corpus Christi Church in Athlone on Friday, September 12th between 10.45am and 11.30am is being asked to contact Gardaí.
