Two men in their 20s remain in a serious condition in Tullamore hospital after they were involved in a crash in Rathowen Village early on Sunday morning.

Gardaí are appealing to the public not to share video footage relating to a high speed crash in Westmeath over the weekend. Two men in their 20s remain in a serious condition in Tullamore hospital after they were involved in a crash in Rathowen Village early on Sunday morning. The N4 was closed for most of Sunday to allow a Garda technical examination to take place.

Footage of the crash and allegedly relating to the incident has been circulating online with Gardaí urging people not share it. Gardaí are asking anyone who was in the area or travelling on the N4 in the early hours of Sunday morning, and who may have dash cam footage, to make it available to their local Garda station.
