The future of postal services in a south Roscommon village have been secured after a local business confirmed it would take over the operation.
Knockcroghery Post Office will close this summer with the service moving to Mee's Daybreak in the village.
The current postmistress Mary Dolan is set to retire after serving the village since 1986.
She has agreed to continue beyond the previously stated deadline of July 10th.
Co-owner of Mee's Daybreak, Luke Mee, says An Post services will be available at the shop from September.
