Funeral details have been announced for former Leitrim Cllr Des Guckian. He passed away yesterday in Sligo Hospice after a brief illness, while aged in his 70s. He will repose at St. Mary's Church, Annaduff on Sunday from half past three concluding with prayers at seven o'clock.
His funeral mass will take place at St. Mary's Church, Annaduff on Monday at twelve noon with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The Annaduff man stood down from the council last month, on health grounds, and his daughter Irene took over his seat. Roscommon councillor Tom Crosby, from Tarmonbarry, has been paying tribute:
