Landowners within a World Heritage Royal Site in Roscommon will soon be eligible for funding.
A €300,000 pilot scheme is now open for applications for landowners within Rathcroghan Mound near Tulsk.
The site is on the World Heritage Royal Sites of Ireland Tentative List along with four others around the country.
The World Heritage Strategic Investment Fund is aimed at protecting and conserving structures in need of urgent support.
The funding announcement comes ahead of the roll out of the Government's World Heritage Strategy.
