Funding boost for several local heritage sites

The money will be used to repair and restore some of the region's most well known historical sites

Almost  €150,000 has been announced for local heritage buildings.

The funding from the Department of Heritage is part of €3 million made available under the Historic Structures Fund.

Among the local projects, Strokestown Park House receiving a total of  €80,000.

In total, Leitrim is to get €40,000 for two projects and Longford's four projects receive €70,000 between them.

Roscommon and Monaghan are receiving the most at €126,000 and €204,500 respectively.
