Fraud down but burglaries up according to local crime figures

A hundred incidents of crime were reported to local Gardaí in the third quarter of last year.

The Central Statistics Office has provided a breakdown of the number of crimes reported by Garda division.

In the Roscommon-Longford division, 54 incidents of fraud, deception, and related offences were flagged.

While in Sligo-Leitrim, 46 cases were reported.

This comes at a decrease of three since the same time in 2023.

Nationally, the number of burglaries increased by 10 percent in the 12 months to September last year.
