Footfall reported to be down in Frenchaprk following opening of bypass

A 7km section of the major road project was opened by Minister for Transport Darragh O'Brien last month.

Footfall is reported to be down in Frenchpark in recent weeks due to the opening of a section of the new N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramogue. A 7km section of the major road project was opened by Minister for Transport Darragh O'Brien last month.

Frenchpark, Ballinagare, Tulsk and Strokestown will all be bypassed once the road is fully completed. Local Councillor Sean Moylan believes the bypass will be a positive despite concerns that less people will be passing through local towns and villages:
