Flood warning for Shannonside region as rain alert issued

There's a warning of potential flooding in the Shannonside region tonight and difficult driving conditions.

A status yellow rain warning has been issued for Roscommon, Longford and Westmeath.

It will start at 10 o'clock tonight and run until 4 o'clock tomorrow morning.

Cathal Nolan, from Ireland's Weather Channel, says the weather is unusual for this time of the year.
