Five people have been on Longford County Council's social housing waiting list for over 14 years.
A total of 169 have been on the waiting list for over seven years.
These new figures, released under the Freedom of Information Act, reveal there are 663 applicants on Longford County Council's social housing waiting list - 976 adults and 538 kids.
Longford town, Newtownforbes and Edgeworthstown are the most sought-after areas.
Across Co Longford, 322 applicants have been on the waiting list for more than three years, 76 for five to seven years, 113 for seven to ten years, and 56 for more than a decade.
Five have been on the list for between 14 and 16 years.
The council says these figures reflect demand and include households on transfer lists, as well as those awaiting their first allocation.
It says some people may have been offered accommodation several times, but have chosen not to accept for personal, medical, location or family reasons.
