First-time buyers have their best shot at getting on the property ladder in Longford. New research by switcher.ie shows the average couple would have the best chance of buying a home there, followed by Leitrim, Donegal, Mayo and Roscommon. The most expensive places to save up for deposit are Dun Laoghaire followed by Wicklow, South Dublin, Fingal and Louth.
It would take 21 years for the average couple to save to buy a home in Dun Laoghaire compared to a year and a half in Longford. Longford Cllr Peggy Nolan says it's a good news story for the county:
