There are fears of a backlog of court cases developing in the Shannonside region, due to a barristers' strike.
A protest has been taking place outside Longford courthouse today, along with 15 other courthouses, as barristers withdraw their services.
They still strike again nationwide next Monday and on July 24th, in a row over pay restoration.

General election candidate in Longford, Gerry Warnock, says the strike could have a serious impact of criminal cases.
