The National Irish Famine Way, which begins in Co Roscommon, is set to expand to the United States this year.
It's part of the Global Irish Famine Way project, which aims to install commemorations of the Great Famine around the world.
The US Global Irish Famine Way follows the trail in Canada, which was established last year.
It comes as part of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in the United States, which will also celebrate the contribution of the Irish diaspora to the country's foundation.
