A Department of Education survey is asking for opinions on a number of issues, including whether a school is under religious or multi-denominational patronage.

A Church of Ireland rector says he's confident the ethos of St John's National School in Longford town won't change.

A Department of Education survey is asking for opinions on a number of issues, including whether a school is under religious or multi-denominational patronage.

Parents and guardians of kids currently in primary education, or who will be in the coming years, have until next Tuesday to do the survey.

Reverend Canon Simon Scott is the rector of the Longford group of parishes:

Almost 70 children attend St John's National School on the Battery Road in Longford town.
